Vacancy for Registrar / Administration Officer at the Primary Education Department

Job mission:
To maintain all official School records and provide high quality overall administrative support to the Primary Education Department ensuring its successful operation.

Job description:
The Registrar / Administration Officer working closely and under the supervision of the Director of Pre-School and Primary Education is responsible or oversees the following:

  • Official student, teacher and other School records and archives
  • Departmental operating permits documentation timely submission and follow-up (new and renewals)
  • Preparation of limited time Departmental employees’ contracts, as requested by the Director and in collaboration with the HR office  
  • Primary Education budget preparation
  • Purchasing and budget implementation
  • Coordination of after school activities, keeping records, informing HR office of instructor details for payroll and following fee collection in cooperation with Accounting
  • Oversight of transportation office and personnel (drivers and assistants) 
  • Scheduling appointments of the Director, the teachers and support staff with parents and other stakeholders
  • Keeping official records of all Department’s Personnel vacations
  • Incoming calls and communication with parents and other stakeholders as requested by the Director
  • Preparation of documents, letters and e-mails as requested by the Director
  • Coordination of the use of classrooms and educational equipment
  • Making sure institutional policies are followed by the Department’s staff
  • Support of and participation in School events and activities
  • Support of teaching staff, whenever necessary and as requested by the Director

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or higher
  • Excellent office management skills
  • Fluency in Greek and English (Proficiency certificate)
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Personality suitable to work in a primary education environment
  • Ability to handle crisis or other situations emerging often when working with young children
  • Working experience of minimally 5 years in a similar position/ environment at the same education level

Faculty Openings at Perrotis College Graduate Programs

Perrotis College is introducing a School of Graduate Studies, which will award MSc Degrees in 5 different areas of concentration related to Agricultural Science and Marketing of Agricultural Products. The Graduate School builds on the AFS philosophy and long history of quality education focusing on applied research, practical training, and entrepreneurship, guided by the principles of social responsibility, as well as its century old experience as facilitator of many agricultural innovations for Greece and the area.

The School of Graduate Studies which will welcome its first class of students in the fall of 2017 will complement the College’s existing BSc Program, by providing the next tier of educational opportunities to students of the College as well as outside applicants.

Instruction at Perrotis College is conducted in the English language equipping our graduates to face the dynamics of the worlds of science, academia, and business internationally preparing them as well, for continuation at the Doctoral level abroad.

Teaching/training – Consultancy - Research positions
American Farm School - Perrotis College

The Strategic Project Management Office (SPMO) of the American Farm School (AFS) operates in close collaboration with Perrotis College and the other AFS departments, with a view to designing and implementing consultancy projects funded by both public and private sources, as well as providing services relevant to the AFS fields of expertise to the industry and public organizations.

The SPMO offers the following teaching/training – consultancy - research positions for staffing three major up-coming projects:

A. Four full-time Teaching/Training - Consultancy - Research Positions

The selected persons will be offered a one-year teaching/training, consultancy and research employment contract. They will have a leading role in teaching/training, consultancy and research teams in their respective fields of expertise. Their duties will include the design, organization and monitoring of educational, consultancy and research projects as well as the active participation in teaching/training, consultancy and research.

Subject areas or interest include:

  • Horticulture
  • Viticulture
  • Agrotourism
  • Agrimarketing

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Post-graduate studies in the field of expertise (preferably Ph.D. from an English speaking University)
  • Teaching experience at University level or/and to adult learners and professionals

  • Category B driving license

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in the design and implementation of projects
  • Research experience (a personal research h-index of at least 4 is desirable)

B. Part-time Training - Consultancy - Research Positions

The selected persons will be involved in training and consultancy activities both on and off campus, on a part-time basis. In addition, they will participate on a need basis in field research in their fields of expertise.

Training – Consultancy position for an Agronomist at the American Farm School – Perrotis College

The School of Professional Education of the American Farm School & Perrotis College offers a wide range of experiential education, field training, information and consulting programs related to agricultural entrepreneurship, resource management optimization, environmental protection, application of new technologies in agriculture, agro-tourism and culture. Its programs are addressed to either individuals or groups from Greece and abroad within the context of extension services.

The School of Professional Education offers one (1) full-time position for an Agronomist. He or she will work with the extension service team, and will undertake the implementation of specialized training and consulting programs, while participating as an adult educator and consultant at the same time.

Necessary qualifications:

  • A tertiary education degree in Agronomy with specialization in plant production or soil science
  • A minimum of two year teaching experience in adult education and/or vocational training programs
  • Certification of the Teaching Qualification of Trainers for Adults of non-formal education from EOPPEP
  • Proficient user of English language
  • Proficient user of IT and software applications for primary agricultural production management
  • Excellent writing skills of technical texts, reports, case studies, articles, educational material and funding proposals
  • Category B driving license
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent working skills in a group and/or individually, in different subjects and within specific timetables
  • Crisis management, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Impeccable work ethics

Additional qualifications:

  • Postgraduate studies in plant production or soil science
